Program Description

Event Details

Stevenson Grange #121's 2020 “Critical Issues Of Our Times” film series, co-hosted with Stevenson Community Library, will feature discussions of four documentaries. Each film is accessible through Kanopy or other online platforms and will be discussed on a Tuesday, starting at 6:30 pm.

This month, before the meeting, watch WATER WARRIORS on Kanopy using your library card to log in. Then on September 15th, log in to join the discussion with fellow community members.

Water Warriors is the story of a community's successful resistance against the oil and gas industry. When an energy company begins searching for natural gas in New Brunswick, Canada, indigenous and white families unite to drive out the company in a campaign to protect their water and way of life.

Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival and DOC NYC.

Winner of Best Short Documentary at the Blackstar Film Festival. Winner of Best Documentary at the Austin Under-the-Stars Film Festival.

To join this online program, you will need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone. The link to join the event will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins.

A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if necessary.
