His: Ned McConnell discovered his talent for art in his mid-60's when he volunteered as an "Art Friend" at a local elementary school. Through his lesson preparation, he gained confidence to do his own experimentation in various medium

Hers: Joan McConnell learned to sew at an early age. She made her first quilt in the 1970s. She loves all kinds of quilts from art quilts to cute appliqued quilts. Sometimes she gets out of her comfort zone and designs her own quilts.
