Have you ever had an idea about how to improve your community or the state of Washington? Come eat some pizza and learn about:

  • the structures of local and state government;
  • how policies are proposed, debated, and voted upon; and
  • strategies for participating in city, county, and state legislative processes.

In addition to pizza, every participant will receive a copy of the Washington State Legislature’s Guide to Lawmaking, a “Guide to Effective Participation,” and a “Legislative Tracker”! This workshop is presented by the Office of the Secretary of State's Civic Engagement Program.

This program is being held at several FVRLibraries' locations, August–October. Click on the following link for more dates: Local-State Civics 101.
