Program Description

Event Details

Join Sarah Nelsen for a yoga class focused on gentle strength and stretching as well as calming the nervous system. We will use gentle movement, breath and guided relaxation to relieve tension and stress. Class may include poses on the floor, seated, and standing - adaptations will be given to make class as accessible as possible.

Reclined poses could be done on the floor or a bed; seated poses could be done on the floor or in a chair; standing poses could use the wall or a chair for support.

The last Tuesday of each month will focus on a mix of Restorative, Yin, and Yoga Nidra. These practices focus on floor based stretching, meditation and relaxation.

Props you may want to have on hand include: a blanket, a pillow, a strap, and a chair.

Sarah is a certified yoga therapist and yoga teacher. She specializes in working with individuals with chronic health conditions, using the tools of yoga to help alleviate some of the health impacts of those conditions including anxiety, insomnia and persistent pain. Her classes are gentle and therapeutic with an emphasis on connecting with the body, using the breath to help calm the nervous system and moving to gently release physical tension. Her classes are great for those with chronic health conditions, those new to yoga, and those craving a quiet, reflective practice.

Sarah runs an online therapeutic yoga membership and works one on one with individuals. More information can be found at app.heymarvelous.com/homecoming and sarahnelsenyoga.com.
