Event Details

Join the conversation! FVRLibraries is hosting Aaron Bobrow-Strain, author of The Death and Life of Aida Hernandez, winner of a 2020 Washington State Book Award for this year's Revolutionary Reads. This virtual event will be live streamed on our YouTube channel and no registration is required. We'll also be recording it for future viewing in case you can't join us for the live event.

In her Booklist starred review, Donna Seaman had this to say: "Bobrow-Strain, an academic and an immersion journalist of conscience in the mode of Alex Kotlowitz, tells the dramatic true tale of a woman he calls Aida Hernandez with extraordinary clarity and power... In this caring and  unforgettable borderland saga, Bobrow-Strain reveals the profound personal toll of the immigration crisis."

Revolutionary Reads is an annual community reading and event series from Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries to engage readers, spark dialogue, and inspire ideas that just might change the world. The program is made possible through the generous support of Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation and branches’ Friends of the Library groups.
