Program Description

Event Details

The Euphorigen Investigation is an online escape room where four to six people will work together to solve a series of puzzles. Players will interact with each other and the librarian puzzle master over Zoom and the escape room website. Because escape rooms are a cooperative game, participants need be sure to show up at the scheduled time. Otherwise your fellow players will be put at a disadvantage!

An investigative journalist suddenly disappeared last night, and the last thing they did was hand their laptop over to a trusted librarian. After opening the laptop and seeing the contents, the librarian grew alarmed and called you all in to help. The librarian knew the journalist was doing research on the company that makes Euphorigen, a drug that has been used to treat people with anxiety and improve their mood. Because of the product’s success, the government wants to add Euphorigen to the country’s water supply so that the general public can experience its benefits. Can Euphorigen be trusted? You only have one hour to uncover the truth!

This escape room was developed by the University of Washington as a research project. Participants need to be 18 years of age or older, and will need to consent to allowing the UW to record the game and to complete a brief survey about the experience.

To join this online program, you will need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone. The link to join the event will be emailed to registrants. A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if necessary.
