Join author Sherri Maret on Zoom as she shares her children's book, The Cloud Artist, and leads participants through a fun art activity. Gather your supplies to participate in the art activity: blue paper, white paint, and a paintbrush are all you need!

The Cloud Artist (Hoshonti Holbvttoba Inchunli) is a bilingual picture book, written in English and translated into Choctaw. Leona, a little Choctaw girl, discovers she can use the sky as a canvas and the clouds as paint. With great joy, she shares her cloud paintings with her tribe. Then a traveling man learns of her gift and asks her to paint with the clouds at his carnival. Working at the carnival leads Leona to make a decision about what kind of artist she wants to be.

The Cloud Artist is written by Sherri Maret and illustrated by Merisha Sequoia Clark, both members of the Choctaw Nation. Learn more about the Choctaw Nation: choctawnation.com
