Program Description

Event Details

Join us for an evening with author Linda Jo Hunter. Her new book, Lonesome for Wilderness is about being out there... and by choice, being comfortable and safe whether you are in a group or going solo.

Find out what visual tracking is all about as well as overall nature observation skills like paying attention to what the birds are doing, the weather changes and which animals are using the habitat and why. After 30 plus years of testing her skills, the author covers such topics as navigation, camping, dealing with other humans, animal encounters, and reading the daily news left by animals on the landscape. Hunter says that if you end up in a survival situation, you've already made a whole lot of mistakes. So, her book isn't about survival, rather it is about learning, wonder and just plain having good adventures.

Q&A and book signing to follow the talk.

This program is co-sponsored by Stevenson Grange #121, and Stevenson Community Library.
