Program Description
Event Details
Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a celebration from areas of Mexico dating back over 3,000 years. The celebration itself honors the memory of loved ones who have passed, showing respect for the dead and celebrating life and death. Traditionally these created objects would have had a place on an Ofrenda to welcome back the departed to visit with friends and relatives on this day.
Join other teens and adults as we plant your own succulents in coffin planters. This event is by registration to guarantee your supplies. Each coffin planter will include a plastic skeleton, two live succulent plants, soil, pebbles and two artificial marigolds to welcome back the departed on the day of souls. Care instructions for the succulents will also be included.
