Program Description

Event Details

Dr. Jim Ogden will present a piano concert of popular music dating from the early 1900s to the 1960s. He also plans to play some polkas and Scandinavian music on the accordion. Dr. Ogden and his monther, Marguerite started playing this type of music together for Grange Hall dances in Cowlitz County when he was about 10 years old. Over the years they played for many 50th wedding anniversary celebrations, big year birthday parties, as well as nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Marguerite played both the piano and accordion, and they played for the last time when she was about 93 years old. Marguerite passed away in 2020, and January 25, 2023 would have been her 100th birthday.
