Program Description

Event Details

Do you know what a fire adapted community is? Join representatives from DNR and UCD to learn more about steps you can take to make your home and community safer from wildfire. From structure hardening and defensible space to large scale fuels treatments to evacuation preparedness, there are critical steps you can take now to prepare for the next wildfire. Active participation in wildfire mitigation efforts is the best way to ensure your safety for this wildfire season.

Charlie Landsman has almost a decade of wildfire mitigation experience ranging from research to non-profit work to working for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. He is an expert at working with residents and local partners to create Fire Adapted Communities. Charlie has led local, state, and national trainings to empower residents, practitioners, firefighters, and other emergency management or forestry personnel to mitigate wildfire risk across the US.
