Program Description

Event Details

Andrea Lopez is a Colombian American artist currently living and working in Vancouver, WA. Originally from Colombia, Lopez discovered her passion for art later in life after initially pursuing a career in medicine. She creates mixed media paintings that unite abstract and realistic elements through an intuitive process of layering collage, acrylic, oil pastels, charcoal, and spray paint.

Lopez's artwork is characterized by vibrant colors, rich textures, and a sense of playful humor inspired by her cultural heritage. Her subjects often include animals, still lifes, rural landscapes with barns, figures, and organic shapes that emerge organically through her exploratory creative process. Text, fonts, and graphic motifs reflecting her love of language and travel are frequently incorporated. Lopez's vibrant, multi-layered paintings aim to uplift and enrich the lives of others, sharing the same joy and wonder that motivates her own artistic expression. As part of her ongoing commitment to professional development, Andrea has actively pursued self-education through participation in a series of workshops aimed at refining her artistic skills.

Additionally, she has actively engaged with the local art community by showcasing her work at various respected art festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest. Furthermore, Andrea proudly holds membership at the prestigious Waterstone Art Gallery in Portland, where she maintains a regular exhibition schedule, further solidifying her presence within the regional art scene.
