Program Description
Event Details
Join Jessica Becker, author of the little feet hiking book series, for a family experiential learning hike on the Whipple Creek trails. On this hike, kids will have an opportunity to learn about and practice map wayfinding, learn about native plants, and visit some remnants of the old homestead.
This 3-mile hike is geared towards kids ages 5+ and their caregivers who are able to walk up and down steep hills. This hike is predominantly in shade, and we will likely encounter horses. Hikers should be able and willing to keep a moderate kid pace and follow directions.
If you have a nature journal and pencils, bring them along. We’ll have extra on hand though too! We recommend bringing a lunch, water, snacks, and something to sit on if you don’t want to sit on the ground (garbage bags are one option).
This is not a drop-off event and registration is required. Please sign up one person per family and indicate how many will be participating in the notes.
