Event Details

The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) and Smithsonian Gardens have provided a poster exhibition titled Pollination Investigation. The exhibition explores the essential role that pollinators play in the natural world.

Originally created in partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Pollination Investigation started as a set of educational panels for the Pollinator Garden at the museum. Funded in part by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee, Pollination Investigation details the who, what, when, where, why, and how of pollination, by interpreting the unique relationship between pollinators and flowers.

To illustrate the relationship between pollinators and flowers, these 28 bilingual posters include seven “pollinator profiles” for bees, beetles, butterflies, hummingbirds, flies, moths, and wind (along with special references to bats and water). Using a field-journal theme, each profile in Pollination Investigation describes the pollinators’ favorite flowers.
