Join Jessica Becker, author of the Little Feet Hiking family guide book series, on a casual one-mile hike on the CASEE Forest and Nature Trails. All ages and abilities are welcome. The trails lie on Battle Ground School District property and offer a great hiking experience for kids of all ages. The trails here are flat and take you past wildlife-filled ponds and through shady forest. The trails are also next to the Naturescaping Wildlife Botanical Gardens, where you will find interesting plants, flowers, and birds in every season.
On our hike, we will stop to look at native plants, trees, frogs, turtles, and anything else interesting we encounter. We may also end up climbing on some logs and splashing in puddles. Bring your family hiking questions and your water/snacks (because hiking with kids always requires snacks) and enjoy a fun morning with other families. We will be hiking through a mix of sun and shade, as well as hiking rain or shine, so plan accordingly.
Make your way to 11104 NE 149th St, Brush Prairie, WA 98606 and park in the lot for the Battle Ground Public Schools Administration building. You'll see the garden across an access road. Meet by the entrance to the garden. Please keep kids on the trails in the garden to avoid damaging any plants.
Please note that this is not a drop-off event and there are risks associated with hiking. Email Jessica at littlefeethiking@gmail.com with any questions.
