Discover new films and discuss them with new friends, all from the comfort of your living room.

Each month, we'll meet virtually to discuss a film that is available to stream on Kanopy, for free with your library card. Sign up, watch the film, and join us for a discussion. If you have never used it before, find out how to get started using Kanopy here.

In June we will discuss The Orator (2011).

The Orator was written and directed by Tusi Tamasese and is the first ever Samoan feature film, filmed in Samoa with a Samoan cast speaking the Samoan language. The main character, Saili, is a taro farmer and a dwarf who is fighting to reclaim his father's chiefly status using his skills at oratory.

Official New Zealand nomination for the 2012 Academy Awards. This stunning movie deals with the eternal truths of humanity…belonging, betrayal, courage, and the power of words.
