Author Judith Jacobs Litchfield will talk about her book, Providence White Caps, the Diary of Bernice Lorang, RN, a biography of nineteen year old Bernice Lorange (Bartel) who enrolled in the the three-year registered nurse program at St. Joseph's Hospital in Vancouver, Washington. This book chronicles her life in the early 1940s as one of thousands of student nurses across the United States in the Cadet Nurse Corps.
