Event Details

Experience the enchanting world of Japanese culture through captivating storytelling and traditional music in this family-friendly program. Join us as we journey through the rich tapestry of Japan's heritage with mesmerizing performances on Taiko Drums, Shinobue Bamboo Flutes, Tsugaru Shamisen, and more. Let the rhythmic beats and melodic tunes transport you to the heart of Japan's vibrant traditions. Don't miss this immersive musical adventure for all ages.

Our mission is to educate and entertain. Our guiding philosophy is "Onkochishin,” one of embracing and studying from the past to guide thought and action into the future. Takohachi was founded in 2007 as a non-profit organization to preserve traditional Japanese music and dance. Takohachi seeks to educate and entertain as they perform throughout Oregon and beyond at schools, libraries, festivals and cultural events. www.takohachi.org
