Program Description

Event Details

Travel to the mountainous, arid, ethnically diverse country of Iran in southwestern Asia as Jackie Spurlock shares her inspiring stories and photos of her multiple humanitarian journeys to the country.

Jackie Spurlock was a Peace Corps volunteer in Iran during the 1970s, and has returned to Iran several times in the last few years. Her most recent trip, in February 2019 with an organization called Code Pink, will be the subject of this travelogue. Jackie was the manager of Battle Ground Community Library until 2013, when she transferred to Vancouver Community Library. She is now retired and lives in Portland. You won't want to miss hearing about her exciting adventures to this distant land.
