Event Details

Everyone can delight in the sights and sounds of Chayag! This family group will share traditional songs and dances from all around the Andean region. Experience and learn traditions, culture and language through the interpretation of songs, dances and tales.

This performance is bilingual, spoken and subtitled in Spanish and English.

Chayag means “to arrive” in Quichua, the indigenous language of the Incas. This group has been sharing and preserving the ancestral music, dance and culture of the indigenous people of the Andes for more than 20 years. The group’s dedication to the music, dance and cultural expression has been well recognized in South America, Europe and the US. Chayag was founded in Quito, Ecuador by Alex Llumiquinga. www.andeanmusic.org
