Do you want to be a part of the fight for equity, but don't know where to start? Join us for a monthly moderated discussion group focused on anti-racist literature and other media. All assigned materials will be freely available online with an FVRL library card.
This month, we'll be sharing artwork by artists of color. We encourage participants to bring a favorite piece of art (for example, a painting, music video, poem, or something else) by an artist of color to share with the rest of the group during our discussion. As an example, here is a link to a spoken word performance by Steven Willis. Selections that are five minutes or less (if applicable) will be viewed during the program. Selections which will take longer to experience can be emailed ahead of time to hwhite@fvrl.org or kwray@fvrl.org and will be sent out to registered participants by email.
To join this online program, you will need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone. The link to join the event will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if necessary.
