Family History Essentials: Weaving the Past with Speaker Walter Dominguez

Guest speaker Walter Dominguez will draw from his experience as a film producer to talk about how to interview family members, family friends and others for research on family history, and learning to be open to the unexpected gifts that come out of left field while on your quest.  He will also tell about his experience researching genealogy records for his ancestors in Mexico, and give a few tips for amateurs wishing to produce their own family documentary!

Mr. Dominguez, along with his wife, actress Shelley Morrison, produced the film, Weaving the Past: Journey of Discovery. In this documentary, he embarks on a quest uncovering mysteries in the life of his humble Mexican-born grandfather and learns his grandfather was a heroic revolutionary fighting for social justice in the U.S. and tragically oppressed Mexico.
