Program Description
Event Details
Origami, the Japanese Art of Paper Folding, is not just a fun activity for kids, but it is also a mindful practice that helps anyone to relax and relieve stress. In this continuing program series of virtual classes, Portland-based origami instructor Yuki Martin will teach you to fold some practical, aesthetically pleasing origami out of paper that you may already have at home, such as printer paper and sticky notes.
No prior folding experience is necessary; these will be interactive virtual classes with step-by-step instructions and a document camera. The projects are primarily geared for ages 12 and up, but everyone is welcome.
Supplies to have on hand: origami or printer paper, a cutting tool (such as a scissors) - if additional supplies are needed there will be time to gather them at the start of the program or an email will be sent to registrants before the program.
Yuki was born and raised in Japan, and now lives in Portland, Oregon. She has taught the art of Origami to a wide range of people. Yuki is also the author of Super Cute Origami Kit: Kawaii Paper Projects You Can Decorate in Thousands of Ways! from Tuttle Publishing.
The link to join the event will be emailed to registrants. You will need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone. A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if needed.
