Rena Priest, Washington State Poet Laureate, will hold a reading of her work and a short poetry workshop. Priest, a member of the Lummi Nation, is the first Indigenous poet to serve as Washington States Poet Laureate.  During her tenure she has focused on two primary goals: celebrating poetry in Washington’s tribal communities, and using poetry to increase appreciation of the natural world and the threats facing it.

Sponsored by Humanities of Washington.
