¿Habla español? Practice speaking Spanish in a group setting, led by a Spanish-speaking volunteer.
Beginning and intermediate level speakers are welcome. We will be meeting weekly except for the third Wednesday of each month.
There are breakout rooms for beginning and intermediate levels. While on the Waitlist, please expect to be contacted to schedule a short chat to determine your level.
Beginning group - This group is for people who have little or no Spanish background. The facilitator introduces basic grammar and vocabulary and helps people pronounce the sounds of Spanish. Group members are also encouraged to attempt very basic Spanish conversation. The beginning group provides a safe space for participants to start their Spanish learning journey.
Low-Intermediate group - This group provides an opportunity for participants to learn to speak and understand Spanish, using topics provided by the facilitator. The topics encourage group members to apply the basic grammar and vocabulary that they have been learning. Participants support each other, and receive help from the facilitator, as they work on their speaking and listening skills.
To join this online program, you will need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone. The link and password to join the event will be emailed to registrants. A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if necessary.
